URBAN SCOUT FAIRISLE KNITS
Our second design project of the year was focusing on future trends, and to create fabrics inspired by fashion predictions. We were to be aware of these trends but to create work that was unique and pushed fashion forward.
After researching textile and fashion predictions for Autumn/Winter 2010/11, I was heavily inspired my the moods and colours of the 'Traveller' and 'Crafter' trends. The predicted colour palettes, with their nostalgic browns, organic oranges and reds, reminded me of scouting
badges and camping adventures. This fueled a project designing Fair Isle knits for a new-age Urban Scout.
