DESIGN UNIT ONE FINAL OUTCOME

To conclude my research and testing sampling unit, I created a dress indicative of the techniques I would like to incorporate into my final collection. The main dress fabric is knitted using a loopy pile technique in a silk and metallic-mix yarn, with trims and plaits joined seamlessly into the garment.

SAMPLING & TESTING

Ahead of our Final Year Degree Show, our Third Year began with a sampling and testing unit to develop techniques and inspiration to fuel our final design and garment making. My work sought initial inspiration from Celtic stonework, artefacts and medieval linen trims, before later looking to 1920s flapper style for garment shape and yarns.
